American Red Cross Licensed Training Provider
As a licensed Training provider, all classes meet the high standards of the American Red Cross.  Classes are offered year round at a variety of facilities in the Dallas/Fort Worth and Waco/Temple/Killeen areas.


We offer New Lifeguard training, Lifeguard Review (Re-Certification), Waterfront module, Waterpark Module, and Lifeguard Instructor Courses.

New Lifeguard Certification:  (Lifeguarding with Blood-Born Pathogens) 
Includes Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, AED,  Blood-borne Pathogens. Provides participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. It covers: Care for victims of breathing emergencies using emergency oxygen. How Bloodborne pathogens are spread; how to help prevent, recognize, report and follow up on exposures incidents.


Prerequisites: Minimum age: 15 years.

                          Swim 300 yards continuously using Freestyle & Breaststroke only.

                          Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.

                         Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

                                   Starting in the water, swim 20 yards.

                                   Surface dive 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.

                                   Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to the starting point.

                                   Keep both hands on the brick and your face out of the water.

                                   Place brick on wall and exit pool without using the steps or ladder.


Lifeguard Review (Re-Certification):  (Lifeguarding with Bundle 1)
Participants can renew their certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, AED,  Bloodborne Pathogens, Emergency O2, and Epinephrine Auto Injector. All sections are available, but re-certification may only be issued for areas for which the participant holds current certifications.


Prerequisites: Current Certifications (or less than 30 days expired) in ARC Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED. 

                           Minimum age: 15 years.

                           Swim 300 yards continuously using Freestyle & Breaststroke only.

                           Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.

                           Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

Waterfront Lifeguarding Module:
The Waterfront Skills module teaches lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to emergencies in non-surf, open-water areas found at public parks, resorts, summer camps and campgrounds.  The Waterfront Skills certificate is only valid when accompanied by a current American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.

Prerequisites:  Current Certification (or current enrollment) in ARC Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.
                           Swim 550 yards continuously using Freestyle & Breaststroke only.
                           Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
                                   Starting in the water, swim 20 yards,
                                   Surface dive 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
                                   Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to the starting point. 
                                   Keep both hands on the brick and your face out of the water.
                                   Place brick on wall and exit pool without using the steps or ladder.

                          Complete underwater ring retrieval swim

                                   Starting in the water, swim 5 yards,
                                   Submerge 4-7 feet and retrieve 3 rings each 5 yards apart on one breath.

                                   Surface and finish length of pool to complete the skill sequence.

Waterpark Lifeguarding Module:
The Waterpark Skills Module teaches lifeguards how to handle active play environments such as wave pools, lazy rivers, play structures, Slide run-outs, catch pools, and shallow water attractions.  The Waterpark Skills certificate is only valid when accompanied by a current American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.

Prerequisites:  Current Certification (or current enrollment) in ARC Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.
                           Swim 550 yards continuously using Freestyle & Breaststroke only.

Lifeguard Instructor Certification: 
Trains instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding, Lifeguard Blended Learning, Shallow Water Lifeguarding, Waterpark Skills, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers, Administering Emergency Oxygen and Bloodborne Pathogens Training. Note: To teach Waterfront Skills, Lifeguarding instructors must possess a basic-level Waterfront Skills certificate.


Prerequisites:  Minimum age: 17 years 

                           Possess either: Current Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED 

                                                      Equivalent certificate from another organization. 

                           Complete the Online Session for the Lifeguarding Instructor course, which includes:

                                                    Orientation to the American Red Cross,

                                                    Orientation to the Lifeguarding Instructor course and

                                                    Pre-course exam.

                            Complete the Precourse Skills Session demonstrate mastery of all lifeguarding skills
